Music & Memory at the Library

Libraries of Sussex County: supporting at home Caregivers.

Music & Memory:

Uses Personalized music for enjoyment and to improve quality of life for people with memory issues.

Is supported by scientific research and anecdotal evidence.

Can be used at any time throughout the day to calm as well as uplift and bring individuals into the present.

Has been used in memory care units of nursing homes and is now available to those cared for at home.

Can be used for those with Alzheimer’s, dementia, chronic pain, in dialysis and in hospice.

Music & Memory at the Library is a partnership between CAMP Rehobeth Chorus and Friends Music & Memory Project, and Sussex County Public Libraries.

There is no charge to participate!

How to participate:

  1.  Fill out application form at the Library.
  2. A certified volunteer will meet with you to develop a personalized play list, load music onto a MP3 player, review use and care of equipment
  3. Check out completed Music & Memory Kit with DE Library card.
  4. Keep the Kit as long as it’s needed.
