The program was developed to encourage children to continue reading during the summer months and to develop a lifelong adventure with reading. Children from birth to age 12 may enjoy a summer filled with fun, culture, education, new experiences and so much more, with reading at its’ core. You can read on your own or have someone read to you.
This year, the library will offer online activities such as virtual magic shows, paint nights, story times, and concerts on our website and on Facebook. Collect badges too! Virtual badges will be awarded for the first 10 hours of reading. If you complete 10 hours of reading you will receive a certificate signed by Governor Carney, a free Scholastic book, and a grab bag of prizes! (Prizes will be awarded at the end of the program.)
