Creating Flowers from Paper

An art program for Aged 55+ – Class size is limited and registration is required.

About the Artist:

Inspired by nature, dimensional paper artist Linda Majewski creates paper flowers and plants evocative of their real-life counterparts. Using a variety of paper types, she designs each botanical and assembles them by hand.

A devotee of paper as an artistic medium since childhood, Linda began making  paper succulents several years ago as a way to reconnect with her creativity. She’s since added flowers to her repertoire and delights in finding new and unexpected ways to incorporate paper botanicals into her artwork.

Linda is the owner of Paper Greenhouse, exhibiting and selling her work at local galleries and art fairs. She is available to create exclusive pieces for individual use, special events, and seasonal projects. Linda especially enjoys sharing her love of creativity as the owner/instructor of Marvelous Makers and is available to teach one-off classes as well as multi-week courses, in person or online.

Creative Aging Program:
Linda has successfully presented Creating Flowers from Paper at several Delaware libraries through the Creative Aging initiative. The course consists of skill-based, sequential art lessons, including instruction on artistic styles; giving and receiving of constructive criticism; the mechanics and artistic considerations of paper flower design; paper-shaping tools and techniques; paper types and coloring mediums; and floral design.

All classes include hands-on practice in basic skills that build over the weeks, ending with participants creating their own unique arrangement of paper flowers. Sessions include opportunities for meaningful interaction with the instructor and between students. Final projects are exhibited at the library, culminating with an artist’s reception for students, friends, and family where we discuss the class and the artwork.

This class is sponsored by the Delaware Division of the Arts.
