How does summer reading work?
Register
Sign up online at Milford Beanstack. Preregistration begins on May 17th but you may not begin logging books until June 1st. You may want to download the Beanstack app on your phone.
Read and Log Books
The Milford Public Library summer reading program runs from June 1st – Aug. 12th. After you read a book, scan the ISBN from the back of the book to the Beanstack app or manually add it to the webpage. Log the books you read and attend programs at the Teen Center to earn badges and rewards. To complete the teen summer reading challenge, you must read and log 10 books.
As you earn your badges and rewards, you will also earn virtual tickets that you can put towards any of our three prize baskets. ALL participants are invited to join our End of Summer Reading Celebration. Winners of our raffles will be drawn at the end of Summer Reading Celebration Aug 11, 2023.
Books can be graphic novels, magazines, audiobooks, ebooks, or hard copy books. You can read books that you own, library books, or borrowed from any source.
Prizes
- Summer reading participants get a prize for every 2 books they read, up to 20 books.
- After 10 books read, participants receive a completion prize as well as virtual raffle tickets
- All participants are invited to the end of summer reading party

- Movie Basket: $25 gift card to Milford Movies, popcorn, candy, and more!
- Ice Cream Basket: $25 gift card to Ritas, toppings, and more!
- Reader Basket: $25 Amazon gift card, bookmarks, book light, and more!
