If you are 18 or over, and if you reside in or own property in Delaware: you may obtain a free library card. Bring photo ID along with proof of property ownership or residency.
If you are under the age of 18 and a resident of Delaware: a parent or legal guardian must be present to cosign and assume responsibility for borrowed material.
Nonresidents may obtain a month-long card for $10.00, or a year-long card for $25.00. Photo ID is required. For more information visit delawarelibraries.org for registration forms & information.

You must have your library card or your photo ID to use the computers or take out anything from the library. You do not need your card to use materials inside the library or attend programs. Get the Delaware Libraries Mobile app and you can use your digital library card!
Just present your library card and photo ID to a library staffer during your next library visit. Cards need renewal every three years. All outstanding fines and fees must be paid before renewal.
Most other library materials have a lending period of 3 weeks, including books, DVDs, audiobooks, music and magazines. Some materials may have a shortened loan period due to high demand.
You may return Delaware public library books to any public library within the state of Delaware. We will make sure that materials get back to their proper home.
If your items are overdue, bring them back as soon as you can. The fines stop adding up as soon as the materials are checked in and the items will be available for others to use. If you have lost an item, please tell us as soon as possible so that we can let you know what the replacement costs will be.
Yes, the library offers free wireless connection, and it is available throughout our building and in our parking lot. Simply connect to either “Library-Public” or “Library-Outdoors” network.
